The combination of a large central stone surrounded by a halo of smaller garnets is traditional in the Czech jewellery industry. This particular design is a more modern variation on the tradition, using an atypical checker cut cabashon garnet for a central stone. The size and the cut of the stone are particularly flattering for garnet, bringing out its deep red color. Average weight 4.53 g
The drop shape, known also as the pear shape, is one of the most popular gemstone cuts. It gives elegance and delicacy to the larger jewels and sophistication to the smaller ones. In case of rings, there is an added bonus: a drop-shaped ring worn with its pointed end away from the wearer optically elongates the fingers.
